💦 The experience: Paddle down the Withlacoochee River, in and out of the creeks, and around the Gulf waters. You choose your route, time, and distance. We have information on kayak trails for varied lengths and scenic views. We can make suggestions depending on tides, winds, weather and desired paddling times/distances. We’ll agree on the drop-off and pick-up locations and times at the time of rental. Contact us if you have any questions about the custom kayaking option.

Kayak Rental - Short Run/Half Day
📍 Distance: Approximately 4 miles
⏱ Time: Between 2-3 hours depending on speed and tides.
💦 The experience: Paddle down one of Florida’s extraordinary waterways. The Withlacoochee River winds through both wooded and residential areas and then flows into untouched land until it spills into the Gulf. The area is quiet and paddlers enjoy spotting some of the Nature Coast’s most exciting wildlife.

⏱ Time: Between 4+ hours depending on speed and tides.
💦 The experience: Paddle down one of Florida’s extraordinary waterways. The Withlacoochee River winds through both wooded and residential areas. The area is quiet and paddlers enjoy spotting some of the Nature Coast’s most interesting wildlife. Exit where the mouth of the river flows into the Gulf at Bird Creek Boat Ramp.

Island
Kayak Rental - Private Island Day Trip
📍Distance: 1.5 miles from shore to island
⏱ Time: Full day rental start times are adjustable. It takes between 45-60 minutes on average to kayak to the island depending on paddling speed, tides and wind. Boat transportation is available. Contact us for more information.
🏝 The experience: Launch from a sandy beach straight into the Gulf. Paddle through the open gulf waters to Sundown Republic Island. Our private island has several coves, a beach area, shade trees and an artesian well (do not drink). You may see for dolphin, pelicans, eagles, osprey and other wildlife!

Yes, kayak rentals include a drop-off and pick-up service. We can drop off to local trailheads, parks, and other agreed upon locations.

If kayaking to Sundown Republic Island is not an option for you, you can still experience the private island experience! Boat transportation is available. Contact us for more information.
